Abstract

The selection of Riyadh as the host city for Expo 2030 marks a pivotal moment in the global recognition of Saudi Arabia’s cultural, economic, and sustainable development strides. This article examines the transformative potential of Expo 2030, considering its capacity to serve as a catalyst for intercultural understanding, tourism revival, and the advancement of sustainable solutions within the Kingdom and beyond. Drawing upon a comprehensive analysis of the planned initiatives and programs associated with Expo 2030, the study underscores the event’s alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals of diversifying the economy and fostering a vibrant society. The findings highlight Expo 2030’s expected contributions to enhancing global perceptions of Saudi Arabia, stimulating the tourism sector, and showcasing innovative sustainable practices. Furthermore, the research identifies the Expo as a crucial platform for international dialogue and cooperation on pressing global challenges, emphasizing its role in promoting peace, prosperity, and environmental stewardship. Through Expo 2030, Riyadh is set to redefine its position on the world stage, illustrating the Kingdom’s commitment to cultural exchange, economic growth, and sustainability. This is the first article about the potential impact of Expo 2030 for Saudi Arabia.
