Examining the Negative Effects of Smartphone Use among Undergraduate Students in Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria

This paper looks at the implications which the use of smartphones portends on undergraduate users
in high education systems in Nigeria. It engages data from a secondary source and content analysis
as methodology. The paper discusses various benefits and problems associated with smartphone.
Among other things, it advises undergraduate students to desist from its addiction and abuse in order
to secure their potentials. The psychological, social, economic and academic implications of the
consequences could be very grave for students and their families to bear.
